Frameless glass is the system of choice for premium retail, hospitality, showrooms, and anywhere the design intent is 'remove the barrier between street and store'. Done well it's stunning. Done badly it leaks, cracks, and self-destructs in a high wind.
The structural calc work matters more than the install — but the install matters second. We don't bid frameless work without sight of a structural engineer's report on the substrate, the head fixings, and the wind-load assumptions. That sometimes loses us jobs to cheaper bidders. We'd rather lose the job than fit something we can't stand behind.
