Aluminium is the most popular shopfront material on the UK high street, and for good reason: it's strong, light, weatherproof, recyclable, and finishes in any colour to a paint film that lasts decades. The trick is in the install.

We've been fitting aluminium shopfronts since 1999 and we've seen every way it can go wrong: frames out of plumb, weep-holes blocked with sealant, gaskets pinched at the corners, thresholds set proud of the floor. That's why our aluminium fitters are aluminium specialists — not generalists who fit aluminium one week and shutters the next.

How much does an aluminium shopfront cost to install?
Costs vary by size, glazing spec, and door configuration. A typical 4m wide single-door retail shopfront in the West Midlands costs £4,500–£8,500 fitted. Larger units, double-door, or curved sections increase price. We provide fixed itemised quotes after a free site survey.
How long does aluminium shopfront installation take?
Site survey takes 1 hour. Quote turnaround is 5 working days. Fabrication lead time is 2–4 weeks. The actual installation is typically 1–2 days for a standard high-street unit, often completed overnight or at weekends to avoid disrupting trade.
What's the difference between Smart's, Comar, and Senior aluminium systems?
All three are major UK aluminium suppliers. Smart's Alitherm is widely used and well-stocked. Comar 5P.i / 6P.i has the longest UK weather track record. Senior PURe has the best U-values for energy-rated installations. We specify based on your performance requirements and budget.
Do aluminium shopfronts come with a warranty?
Yes — we provide 10 years on aluminium frame integrity, 5 years on sealed glazing units, and 2 years on moving parts (hinges, closers, locks). All warranties are direct with S&K Glazing Limited, not passed through a manufacturer chain.
