About this service

Curtain Walling — installed by specialists, not generalists

Curtain walling is a different discipline from shopfront work — it's structural glazing carrying its own dead weight, wind loads, and movement allowances, often at height. It's specified, tested and signed off to CWCT standards (the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology), not the same building regs that cover ground-floor shopfronts.

Our curtain walling team works almost exclusively on Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contractor sites. We're set up for it: scaffold-trained installers, IPAF-licensed for MEWP work, full RAMS pack on every job, weekly toolbox talks, and a project manager dedicated for the duration of the install.

Profile depths50mm to 250mm depending on span and glazing weight. Box mullions for taller assemblies.

What's the difference between stick-build and unitised curtain walling?
Stick-build assembles mullions and transoms on site — most flexible, best for refurb work or irregular geometry. Unitised uses pre-glazed factory panels lifted into place — faster site programme, better quality control, less weather exposure during install. Choice depends on programme, height, and site access.
Do curtain walls need CWCT testing?
UK best practice follows the CWCT Standard for Systemised Building Envelopes — covering air permeability, watertightness, wind load resistance, thermal performance, and impact safety. Project-specific testing is mandatory on projects over a certain scale, typically commercial new-build.
What height can you install curtain walling to?
Self-performing up to 12 storeys with our own MEWP-trained crews. Taller installations are handled in conjunction with mast-climber specialists or main contractor scaffolding. We're CSCS / IPAF / PASMA certified across the team.
How long does curtain wall installation take?
Programme depends heavily on system type and access. Unitised systems can install at 80–120m² per crew per week; stick-build typically 40–60m² per crew per week. We provide a programme alongside the quote.
